Here are the steps to animate your AmaSeis record with SeismicWaves:
Highlight the seismogram in the helicorder window, starting about 5 minutes prior to P arrival time and then click on the seismogram icon near the upper-left corner of the window: |

The seismogram viewer window will look something like this: |

Next, click on Settings/Event... and fill in the event
magnitude, location (latitude, longitude, depth) (remember that western
hemisphere longitudes are negative), and time (hour, minute, and
second.) Finally click on "Create files for Seismic Waves." | |
Click OK, and then resave this event with the same name in order to preserve the added event information within the sac header. Also note that now the earthquake location and distance to your station are displayed above the record. |

Start up the SeismicWaves program and click on the label for the event that you just added. In this case I clicked on "Kurile Jan. 13, 2007" |

The animation will then begin. |
